Working with re cycled materials is one of my favourite subjects. The redemptive quality of the materials is very attractive, making something permanent and hopefully beautiful from materials that have been thrown away. I enjoy working in three dimensions, moulding, weaving and stitching my rubbish to form bowls and vessels.
What started as teaching aids for design and composition has now become my main inspiration for the other part of my work – surface decoration.
My photographs of the textures of sand, sea and rocks are playing an increasingly important role in my work.
Exploring process and making connections between the environment and my work have become my main catalysts
