Kim Thittichai

Welcome to my website.

I am a textile artist and tutor and author based in Brighton,East Sussex.

I have been teaching experimental textiles for the past 12 years and my speciality is creating 3 dimensional textile forms and surface decoration.

I deliver workshops, lecture nationally and exhibit my work where and when I can.

On this website you can have a look at my work, find out where I am and which workshops are coming up where.

There is also information on all the workshops that I offer to Guilds and groups – just take your pick and see if I am available.

This is me teaching on a workshop at Art Van Go, I look as though I’m going to do something naughty with that heat gun!

My first book Hot Textiles has been very popular and many of you have found it a great source of inspiration.

This has given me the confidence to write my second book!

Experimental Textiles – a journey through design, interpretation and inspiration, which is due out in August 2009.

Experimental Textiles is based on the four year course which I wrote, developed and delivered for nine years at City College Brighton & Hove and Northbrook College, Worthing. There will be a separate website www.experimentaltextiles.com from the end of August
dedicated to promoting education and workshops in textiles.

I will be out and about from August at several shows signing my new book, do come and say hello. Find out where I am by clicking on my diary & events page.

My mail order business nid-noi.com is going from strength to strength supplying some of the products from my books and few more things I can’t resist. Basically anything that I like that responds in some way to heat.

Layered transfer printed pelmet Vilene, painted Bondaweb, heat distressed Tyvek, heat distressed polyester organza finished with hand stitch.
(just some of the products you can buy from
nid-noi.com)

If you are ever in Brighton in May or December why not come to my Open House and discover the delights of many different artists work including textiles, wood turning, stained glass, feltmaking and recycled garden sculpture.

Have a browse and see what you think.
